Newton DateBar V-1.1a (c) 1999 by SDH EngSoft Written by: Shane D. Hill Release Dates: V-1.1a 18/11/1999 V-1.1 03/11/1999 V-1.0 20/05/1999 Introduction: -------------- DateBar is a small extension to the Dates application. It adds a button bar to the top left corner of the Dates application to allow a one tap access to all of Dates overview forms. Namely Day, Week, Month, Year, To Do List, Day's Agenda and Today. Date bar will automatically update the Dates view hourly and at power-on. DateBar is FREEWARE and can be distributed freely but must not be modified unless approval has been granted by the author. Cost: ------ DateBar is free. If you like it send me an EMAIL to Shane.Hill@dsto.defence.gov.au Where to get it: ----------------- http://members.tripod.com/SDHEngSoft/ http://newted.dyndns.org/users/sdhengsoft/ http://www.amug.org/amug/sigs/newton/ (Just do a search for "datebar") Installation: -------------- You need to install the DateBar.pkg file onto the Newton using the Newton Backup Utility or the like. History: --------- V-1.1a: Hey! One of you noticed that the V-1.1 I released was not in fact V-1.1. V-1.1a fixes this problem and now gives you access to the preferences slip as advertised for V-1.1 V-1.1: Added hourly and power-on update of Dates view controlled from a preference dialog box. Added an about box. V-1.0: Initial release date. Written after I saw a News group message asking if it was possible to select the Month overview with one tap. This version of DateBar was written using Steve Weyer's Newton Development Environment for the Newton. DateBar Description: -------------------- DateBar contains eight text labeled buttons. The labels and descriptions are: d: Day view. w: Week view. m: Month view. y: Year view. t: Todo list. a: Agenda view. t: Go to today. i: Info button. Here you can view the About Box and the Prefs dialog. Datebar also has the facility of updating the Dates view hourly and during power-on of the Newton. This removes the need to scroll the Dates application to the current time when open. This feature is off by default, but can be controlled from the Prefs dialog located within the info button. Miscellaneous: -------------- DateBar has not been tested on MP2K and eMate devices. However, I can't see any reason why DateBar would not work with them. Know Problems: -------------- * DateBar will be hidden behind the year view when selected. This is actually a good side effect because then DateBar does not interfere with the year view form.
